The role at a glance: 

The Visualization Director's primary focus is raising the bar for better visualization in support of better design across the firm. The three primary goals for the team and its leader are:

The Visualization Director will need to inspire and lead a group of leaders embedded within the different studios. As NBBJ’s work takes many forms Lighting, Landscape, Experience Design, Consulting and of course architecture, this leader will need to empathetically engage with multiple groups to understand how they work and collaborate closely with their visualization team members who have existing expertise in each practice. Our ideal candidate will be based in the Los Angeles area; however, we are open to candidates located in one of our other cities of operation.

As the leader of the visualization team, you will provide strategic guidance to a distributed group of experts to elevate the visualization capabilities of designers across the firm

Work samples will be key in selecting the right candidate for this role. Ideally candidates will present a range of samples in multiple formats: Animations, Data Visualization, VR, AR, Static Renders, Diagrams, etc. Please be prepared to talk about the tools and workflows used by your team to create each output. We will also be curious to hear about the team dynamics: who, how, file formats, design updates, etc.
